Adventures in Stereoscopy…

If you are one of those people that can do the Magic Eye things (aka you can see the sailboat, nay, Schooner!) then you should be able to do this.  First, click the image you wanna try so that you see the full size.  Focus on the middle black spot between a pair of images.  Do the magic eye thing… which I can really only describe as blurring your eyes and sorta adjusting the distance that your face is from the screen.  Keep adjusting until you see a third image appear in between the 2 images.  This image should have depth to it.

The top one with Sok and Deep was created manually by clipping out parts of the photo I thought would have different depths and then adjusting them forwards or backwards and cleaning up the edges and such.

The bottom one with Tony was created by taking two snapshots really quickly with only moving a couple inches in between.  A much smoother effect to the 3D in this one.

The top one has clear layers to it (since it was manually cut out) and the bottom one has a 3D feel but more subtle and smooth transition from the foreground to background elements.
